America Is Printing a Weaker Dollar on Purpose. Every Other Country Is Paying for It.

The Mar-a-Lago Accord is not a signed document. It is a policy already in motion. The dollar fell 10 percent in 2025 and hit a four-year low in 2026. Someone is absorbing that loss. It is not the United States.

WHAT'S HAPPENING

Trump's economic team, led by Stephen Miran, has pursued a deliberate strategy to weaken the US dollar by up to 40 percent over several years. The mechanism: tariffs first to acquire leverage, then currency pressure to force trade partners to accept a devalued dollar. The dollar fell around 9 percent on a trade-weighted basis in 2025 and has continued sliding into 2026. A weaker dollar makes US exports cheaper. It makes everyone else's imports more expensive. That cost does not disappear. It moves.

YOUR WALLET

Know this: the UK imports roughly a fifth of everything it consumes, priced in dollars. When the dollar falls, the pound buys more dollars but UK import businesses already locked in contracts at old rates. The Bank of England held Bank Rate at 3.75 percent in September 2026 while the Federal Reserve raised its rate to 3.75 to 4.00 percent the same month. That gap makes sterling less attractive to hold. UK CPI was 3.1 percent in August 2026. The Bank forecasts inflation hitting above 4 percent in early 2027. The dollar rebalancing is already feeding that number.

YOUR WILL

Law of the Landlord: the landlord sets the price of the building everyone has to live in. The US controls the world's reserve currency. Every other country holds dollars in reserve and prices oil, commodities, and debt in dollars. When Washington deliberately weakens that currency, it is not losing value. It is transferring the cost of its trade deficit onto every other nation's household. The psychological trap here is believing this is something happening to markets. It is happening to your shop receipts.

THE MOVE

The Sovereign One does not hold savings in a single currency and does nothing with them. The question worth sitting with: which of your assets gains value when the dollar loses it? Gold, hard assets, and commodities have historically moved inversely to a weakening dollar. Central banks bought 244 net tonnes of gold in Q1 2026 alone. They are reading the same game. Sovereign Step 4: Build the Strategic Reserve. Margin is not idle resource. It is the quiet breathing room where genuine leverage lives.

02

Netflix Lost 40 Percent of Its Value. The Business Did Not.

Revenue is still growing. Profits are at a record. The stock is near a two-year low. The market is not pricing the company. It is pricing the fear that YouTube already won.

WHAT'S HAPPENING

Netflix stock traded at $71.68 on September 28, down more than 40 percent from its 52-week high of $124.86. Revenue grew 13 percent year-on-year in Q2 2026. Operating margin is guided at 31.5 percent for the full year, up from 29.5 percent in 2025. The business is not broken. The problem is engagement: subscribers watched 1.6 hours per day in H1 2026, around 8 percent below 2023 levels. Wells Fargo downgraded to Underweight with a target of $57. HSBC cut to Hold with a target of $76. Evercore set a target of $110 four days earlier. Wall Street cannot agree on what this company is worth.

YOUR WALLET

Know this: Netflix stock sits at roughly 19 times 2026 earnings estimates, with analysts projecting average earnings growth of 21 to 22 percent annually over the next three to five years. At its peak it traded far higher than that multiple. Wells Fargo's target of $57 implies another 20 percent downside from current levels. Evercore's target of $110 implies 53 percent upside. The gap between those two numbers is $53. Q3 earnings arrive October 20. The next content slate and engagement data will move the stock hard in one direction. Netflix has $27 billion authorised for share buybacks, equivalent to roughly 8 percent of the whole company.

YOUR WILL

Law of Panic: when a stock falls 40 percent, people do not ask whether the business is still growing. They ask whether it will fall further. That fear is a financial instrument. It drives retail sellers into the arms of institutional buyers who read the actual numbers. Netflix's household penetration in the US reached a multi-year high of 63 percent as of September 2026 per Evercore's survey. The business has 325 million paid subscribers globally. Panic does not care about that. Panic cares that the last quarter disappointed. Do not let the price tell you the story. Read the machine underneath.

THE MOVE

The Sovereign One does not sell because a stock is falling. The Sovereign One asks whether the business is deteriorating or whether the price is. Those are different questions with different answers. Netflix's profits are at a record. Its stock is 40 percent off its high. Q3 earnings on October 20 are the test. Sovereign Step 6: Internal Intelligence Agency. The most expensive deceptions are never the ones sold outside, but the ones rationalised within. Do not confuse volatility with value destruction.

03

Disney Just Raised Prices for the Fourth Year in a Row. You Are Now Paying Cable Money for Streaming.

Disney Plus and Hulu ad-free plans both hit $21.49 a month this week. Stack Netflix, HBO Max, Peacock and Apple TV on top and you are spending $120 a month to watch television. That is more than most people paid for cable in 2015.

WHAT'S HAPPENING

Disney raised prices on Disney Plus and Hulu for the fourth consecutive year on September 23, 2026. Ad-free plans for both services rose 13 percent to $21.49 per month each. Ad-supported plans rose 50 cents to $12.49. Disney Plus annual subscription has risen 170 percent from its launch price of $70 to $190 today. Streaming inflation has risen approximately three times faster than the broader inflation rate since 2022. US households now spend an average of $69 a month on streaming. Subscribers with access to all major services including Netflix, Disney Plus, HBO Max, Paramount Plus, Apple TV and Peacock can spend close to $120 a month.

YOUR WALLET

Know this: 41 percent of Americans surveyed by Deloitte in 2026 said the content on their paid services is not worth the price. Around 39 percent have cancelled at least one service in the past six months. Disney's cheapest escape route is the ad-supported Disney Plus and Hulu bundle, frozen at $12.99 a month. That plan comes with ads before and after every programme. Disney explicitly reserves the right to insert ads at all subscription tiers. The bundle is priced to keep you inside the ecosystem. Cancellation fatigue is real: most people do not cancel. They pay and forget. That is the business model.

YOUR WILL

Law of the Addict: the addict keeps paying even when the cost rises because stopping feels like losing something. Disney and every other streamer know that subscribers who bundle two or more services cancel at far lower rates. That is why the bundle price barely moved while standalone prices jumped 13 percent. The company is not raising prices because content got better. It is raising prices because it can, and because your habit of watching every night makes the monthly charge feel too small to fight. The number to watch is not the price per month. It is the cumulative annual cost rising quietly in the background.

THE MOVE

The Sovereign One audits every subscription once per quarter. Not when a price hike arrives in an email, but on a fixed date before it hits the statement. The question worth sitting with: which of these services would you actually cancel if the price doubled overnight? The ones you hesitate on are the ones worth keeping. The ones you would not miss are already extracting from you on autopilot. Sovereign Step 2: Sanction the Inputs. The quality of your judgment is determined entirely by what you refuse to let through the gate.
