The US Just Spent $970 Billion on Debt Interest. Not on Schools. Not on Roads. On the Bill from Yesterday.
America paid nearly a trillion dollars in interest on its national debt in 2025 alone. That is more than it spent on defence. Every household in the country owes $7,300 of it. No vote was taken.

What's Happening
The US federal government spent $970 billion on debt interest in fiscal year 2025. That is 19 percent of every dollar collected in tax revenue, gone before a single service is delivered. The debt itself hit 100 percent of GDP at year end. The Congressional Budget Office projects interest payments will reach $1.8 trillion by 2035. The cause is simple: America borrowed at low rates for two decades, then rates rose, and the bill arrived. The debt did not move. The rate did.
Your Wallet
Know this: $970 billion in interest divides to roughly $7,300 per US household in 2025, more than the average family spends on healthcare ($6,500) or petrol combined. That is money the government cannot spend on housing, childcare or NHS-equivalent services. In the UK, debt interest hit £109 billion in 2025/26, consuming 9 percent of all public spending, roughly equal to the entire Department for Education budget. Both countries are paying yesterday's bill with today's wages.
Your Will
Law of the Landlord: the landlord always gets paid first. Before schools. Before hospitals. Before wages rise. Bondholders collect before citizens do, and the state has already agreed to those terms in writing. What this does to your head is make the debt feel abstract and distant. It is not. It is the ceiling on what your government can offer you. Every public service cut is downstream of this number. The question being suppressed is: who agreed to this arrangement, and who benefits from keeping it going.
The Move
The Sovereign One does not wait for the government to invest in their future because the government is already committed elsewhere. Sovereign Step 4, Build the Strategic Reserve: margin is not idle resource, it is the quiet breathing room where genuine leverage lives. The person who builds personal reserves while institutions service debt is the person who does not need rescuing when the cuts arrive.
Eat or become food, Darling.
The Sovereign Drops
01 A trillion on interest, not a brick in the ground
02 Frank getting paid before your kids get found
03 Seven grand a household, silent, no receipt
04 The state's in debt peonage, defaults on the street
05 Rate went up, the bill came due, the poor absorbed
06 Bondholders clocking yield while services get floored
07 They call it fiscal policy, I call it the tax
08 You never voted for it but you carrying the max
09 Build the reserve, don't wait on what they're promising
10 The ceiling's already set, the Sovereign's not watching
