Farage Wants to Ship 10,000 Prisoners to El Salvador. The Price Tag Is Already Written.
Britain spends £629 million a year jailing foreign nationals. Reform's answer is to outsource the problem to a prison with no windows, no family visits, and documented deaths in custody. The numbers do not save money. They just move the scandal offshore.

What's Happening
Reform UK has opened talks with El Salvador's Nayib Bukele to rent prison spaces for over 10,000 foreign nationals currently held in British jails. Party chairman Lee Anderson will lead a delegation to Central America. Reform argues the current cost to UK taxpayers is £629 million a year and that outsourcing is cheaper. Britain runs at £109 a day per prisoner domestically. The US paid roughly $25,000 per detainee in its own El Salvador deal. The arithmetic is tighter than the headline suggests.
Your Wallet
UK taxpayers currently spend £629 million a year housing foreign national prisoners. Reform estimates 10,000 places abroad at £250 million annually, plus a projected £5 billion for 12,400 domestic Nightingale prisons on Ministry of Defence land. The US El Salvador deal cost $6 million for 238 people. Scaled to 10,000 UK prisoners that model implies a minimum floor of approximately £200 million just in transfer fees, before legal costs, which previous Ministry of Justice estimates put at over £200 million across ten years.
Your Will
Law of the Trap. The trap is not El Salvador. The trap is the framing. When the system presents two options, expensive domestic crisis or cheap offshore solution, it has already decided the outcome. The question of whether outsourcing human beings to a facility where Human Rights Watch documented deaths in custody is legal, constitutional, or reversible is never part of the offer. An 18-year-old must ask: who benefits from the panic, and who pays when the legal challenges arrive?
The Move
The Sovereign One reads the political product being sold, not the policy being announced. Reform is not in government. This is a positioning document ahead of an election that does not yet have a date. The Burnham government is already under pressure on prison overcrowding. The pressure hardens both sides. Sovereign Step 2: Sanction the Inputs. Decide whose fear you are consuming before it decides your vote.
Eat or become food, Darling.
